MARY M. BOWEN of Cleveland, OH -- Former Mansfield & Warrensville Hts., Ohio resident.
Mary May Bowen, nee Smidley, died Thursday, December 25, 2014. She passed peacefully at her residence in the Solon Pointe at Emerald Ridge Senior Community.
Daughter of the late Blanche Lape and Remma Moody. Mary was born in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, on April 30, 1927. A 1946 graduate of Lancaster Senior High School, Mary worked most of her adult life as a book-keeper and secretary. She was associated with her husband's firm, Glenn E. Bowen Interiors, from the fall of 1982, until his passing in the spring of 2001. During the 1960's and 70's Mary was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and a regular volunteer for the Inner City Protestant Parish and several Warrensville Heights school, civic and neighborhood groups. Like her husband, Mary was an antique and collectables aficionado. She also loved bird watching and gardening. When her children were younger, she participated in hiking, fishing and rock-hunting expeditions throughout Ohio and Michigan.

A family interment was held in Knollwood Cemetery. Her family will receive visitors on January 10, 2015, at 20106 Lanbury Avenue, Warrensville Heights, OH 44122, between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00 pm.
