MARY CONSTANCE STEVENSON "Connie" was the beloved wife of the late William B. Stevenson, who passed away in 1974. Connie she was the dear mother of Thomas B. Stevenson (Susan), Ellen S. Williams and Susan S. Stevenson and the dear grandmother of Heather Leete Chapman (John) and Melissa Palmer St. Onge (Jason); and great grandmother of Zoe Brady Chapman and Ryan Stilwell Chapman.
Mary Constance Stilwell Stevenson was born on March 4, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents were Lillian and Clifford Stilwell.
At the age of 13 she moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School, class of 1937. She then went on to Denison University where she majored in French. At Denison she joined the sorority, Alpha Phi where she remained an active member into her 90s, even driving homemade cookies to the chapter at Case Western Reserve University for the students studying for finals.
In 1944 she married William B. Stevenson, the couple had three children, Thomas, Ellen, and Susan. Her husband passed away in 1974.
She was an avid gardener and a member of the Village Garden Club and the Green Thumb Garden Club. Her talents were showcased in an impressive flower and vegetable garden at her home for many years. She could also be found mowing her lawn well into her 70s.
She was a member of Garfield Memorial Church for 60 years and was active in the Adah Club. She volunteered at the Shaker Historical Society for many years and served as treasurer of the Spirit Tree Gift Shop.
In addition to gardening, lunching with friends, and gathering with the ladies from "Hookers" a rug hooking group, her hobbies included travel with friends and miniatures.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 22nd at 4:00 PM in Garfield Memorial United Methodist Church.
