Bud Ketchum was born May 31, 1924 in Cleveland Ohio. He graduated from Shaker Heights High School and attended Indiana University. He graduated in 1948 with a Bachelors Degree in Business. Bud enlisted in the United States Army in October of 1942 and was called to active duty May 19, 1943. He was in Wheeler, Georgia for his Infantry Basic Training Camp from June to September 1943. Upon completion, He was in the A.S.T.P. Program at the University of Alabama from September 1943 to March 1944. Bud was in the Corp of Engineers from March to June 1944 at Camp Clauborne, Louisiana; Firefighter School in June of 1944 at Camp Ponchartrain, Louisiana and returned to the Corps of Engineers in July to September 1944. He was at Omaha Beach/European Theater France September 1944 to April 1946, European Army of Occupation May 1945 to April 1946 and was a truck driver & firefighter in the European Theater September 1944 to April 1946. He was honorably discharged in April 1946 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Bud was an independent property and casualty insurance agent for Maxim, Purdue and Ketchum, and later Hodous, Kimball and Ketchum from 1946 until his retirement in 1991. MORGAN ZIESING KETCHUM "Bud" died January 18th in the Fairmount Health Center of Breckinridge Village. Bud was the beloved husband of Ruth M. Ketchum Murphy of Willoughby, OH; the dear father of Lawrence M. Ketchum Debra, Kenneth S. Ketchum of Los Angeles, CA, James S. Ketchum Jill of San Diego, CA and the late Philip Ketchum. He was the dear grandfather of Katelyn, Daniel, Jack and Ben; dear brother of Kathryn Coleman the late Henry of Cleveland, OH; uncle to Patricia and Kathryn. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to an organization of choice. Memorial Services will be held, Friday, January 27th at 11 AM in the Lyndhurst Community Presbyterian Church, 5312 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, OH 44124. A family interment will be held in Lake View Cemetery.
