Nancy Jeanne Nigosian

Nancy Jeanne Nigosian was born on May 11, 1933, to Antranig and Adrienne (Tateossian) Nigosian in Cleveland, OH. Adrienne passed away in 1939 and Antranig married Lucy Mukhitarian in 1941. Nancy grew up in East Cleveland and was an alumna of Shaw High School. The family moved to Cleveland Heights in 1962. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH and worked for White Sewing Machines.  After several years she went to work for University Hospitals and retired from there in 2004. She was the practice manager for the cardio-thoracic surgery department.

In retirement she was active in the Pet Pals program at UH with her beloved Goldens, Ruby and Skylor.  Together they brought joy to children from all over the city.  She was a lifelong member of the Euclid Avenue Congregational Church and the South Euclid United Church of Christ.  Nancy passed away on August 3, 2023 after a brief illness.  She leaves behind her cousin Prudence Zimmer and her family in Colorado Springs and countless friends.

Nancy was fiercely proud of her Armenian heritage.  She and Lucy took great pride in helping in the kitchen for church events at the St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church on Richmond Rd. She loved nothing better than to socialize with the many friends she made and was a master at keeping in touch with everyone. Inviter her for poker, football, a good steak, a Fuzzy Navel or just a gab fest, she was at the ready. If you could throw in a good stock tip, she was all ears. Nancy loved young children and relished teaching Sunday school classes at EACC. She treasured her parents, her extended family and most of all her dogs—Prince, Princess, Duchess, Ruby and Skylor who are waiting with wagging tails at the Rainbow Bridge. Those of us who were lucky enough to call her a friend had our lives greatly enriched by that relationship. Nancy will be greatly missed.
