Nancy Schreck

Nancy Anne Loegler Schreck was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 30, 1935 to The Reverend David and Virginia Loegler. She shared her life with two younger sisters, Deborah Anne deceased and Julie. She attended Laurel School and Junior College. Nancy married Alan Schreck in 1955 and together they had four children, Anne, Kathy, Sarah and David. This produced seven grandchildren: Lauren, Douglas, Andrew, Kristen, Virginia, Emma and Phillip. Nancy always had at least one cat and one dog, usually in her lap when she took a few minutes to sit down. A devoted "Gamma", she never missed a birthday, graduation or special occasion. Her talent as a consummate shopper meant that each grandchild was given the perfect gift. Nancy enjoyed a special long term relationship with Harry Richards. They shared a love of golf and travel with Ponte Vedra Golf Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, as one of their favorite destinations. Nancy's favorite day of the week was Monday. We speculate that she was always looking forward to starting a new week of service; from PTA President to devoted caregiver, to a friend in need, or even doing volunteer work including Head Usher at St. Martin's Episcopal Church or as Treasurer of her Homeowner's Association in Solon, OH. She was a gifted cook and hostess. When you thought the cupboard was bare, Nancy could throw a few ingredients together and create a gourmet meal. She loved a good party and was the hostess of many including family holidays with all the trimmings. Along with entertaining, her other hobbies included bridge Master bridge player and traveling. Nancy's passing was so sudden. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing such a wonderful, caring and compassionate woman.
