Patricia Lynn Pearce

Patricia Lynn Pearce of Cleveland Heights, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 7, 2022 at the Louis Stokes VA hospital where she worked as a clinical social worker, after a brief battle with cancer.

Patricia was born on May 14, 1955 to William and Ruth Meily in Shell Beach near San Luis Obispo, California.  After Patricia graduated from Collinsville High School in Illinois, she joined the US Navy and was based in London where she met her former husband Robert. After leaving the Navy, Patricia worked in real estate selling country homes until she and Robert had their two children George and Ruth.  Patricia then went on to start a family business selling lemonade and became known as the “lemonade lady”, providing delicious refreshments to guests of the Royal Horticulture Society flower shows. After returning to the US to care for her aging mother, Patricia earned her associates degree and LSW from Cleveland Community College and then graduated from Kent State with a degree in Psychology and earned her Masters in Social Work at the University of Akron.  Patricia followed her passion for helping others and went on to work at the Orca House as a program coordinator and counselor and then became a licensed clinical social worker at the VA.

Patricia saw the strength in everyone, showing us that it's possible to lift ourselves up to be the best we can be.

Patricia loved to travel near and far, find the magic in all life’s experiences, both good and bad, and always stopping for the ice cream.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents William and Ruth. She is survived by her former husband, Robert, her children, George, Ruth (Ian), her grandchildren, Aidan, Pearce and Gavin, and friend Mohammed Aldura. Patricia will be remembered as the most wonderful grandmother, always making time for her family and showing them that life is an adventure.
