Philip Clarkson "Clark" Hungerford, age 85 of Cleveland Hts., OH, died on January 28, 2014. A native Clevelander, Clark graduated from Brush High School and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. An engineer, inventor and entrepreneur, Clark owned and managed several businesses throughout his long career. Clark enjoyed skiing, hiking, camping and traveling. He and his wife, Hope, spent much time at their second home in Topsam, Vermont where friends and family frequently gathered.

Clark had an amazing joy for life. He was an eternal optimist - always seeing that patch of blue sky, however small. But nothing made him happier or more proud than his family. They will miss him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Hope (nee Gibson); his daughters Melinda Harder (Ralph), Nancy Bostwick (Robert) and Beth Hungerford; his step-sons John Dempsey (Jill), Philip Dempsey and David Dempsey (Krista Schwarting) his seven grandchildren Laura Harder Aversa (Bob), Katherine Harder, William Bostwick, Emily Bostwick, T. Ford Bostwick, Rebekah Dempsey and Emma Dempsey. He is also survived by his brother John (Patty) of Lyndhurst. Clark was predeceased by his first wife, Ginny.

A Memorial Service will be held at Judson Park, 2181 Ambleside Drive in Cleveland on Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Clark's name to a charity of choice.
