The Radix Wire Company is saddened to announce the sudden passing of R. Charles Chuck VerMerris, their President and CEO. Chuck passed away on Saturday evening, December 18th, after cross country skiing with his wife, MaryLou, and friends. Chuck served Radix and the wire industry with great distinction for over 45 years. We have all lost a true friend. Chuck was one of those remarkably rare individuals who instantly identified and celebrated the good in every person. Whether you were a dear friend, a business associate, or a total stranger, an interaction with Chuck, if even for a passing moment, would make your day better. His energy and enthusiasm were contagious. Chuck regularly said that one of his goals was to leave The Radix Wire Company in more capable hands than his own. While that would not be possible, Chuck's visionary leadership truly empowered others in the organization to become leaders and entrepreneurs. Years ago he established a solid professional management team to conduct the business with him. It allowed them many opportunities to grow in their careers and afforded him added time to explore other personal interests in business and in our community. The leadership and advisory teams at Radix are tenured, and fully committed to continuing Chuck's legacy of service, quality, innovation, and kindness. We will serve you at the highest standards of the industry, and we will make him proud. In lieu of flowers, Chuck's wife, MaryLou, and his children, Scott and Morgan, request donations be made to the R. Charles VerMerris Fund for Entrepreneurial Studies at E Prep Schools, a unique, public, tuition-free option for grade school students.
