The following obituary was provided by the George and Lindland families:
Regina George Tobin (February 2, 1962 - August 30, 2020)
Graham Connery Tobin (August 11, 2005 - August 30, 2020)
Natalie Anne Tobin (August 11, 2005 - August 30, 2020)
The George and Lindland families are deeply saddened by the loss of Regina Tobin (58)(nee George)(John), Graham Connery Tobin (15) and Natalie Anne Tobin (15). They died suddenly on August 30, 2020 in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
They are survived by Regina’s brother John (Jennifer Lampshire) George, and sisters Jane Anne (Al Fiesel) George and Melissa (Matthew) Lindland. They were preceded in death by Regina’s mother Nancy Jane Connery of Chicago.
Regina served as current co-secretary and was co-president from 2018-2019 of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of CISV (Children’s International Summer Village), an independent volunteer organization dedicated to educating and inspiring peace through cultural exchange. In 2017, Natalie, when she was 11 years old, served as a US delegate in the CISV Village program in Porvoo, Finland, and had planned to travel this summer to Jacksonville, Fla., to continue her work with the program. In 2018, at 13 years old, Graham represented the US as a delegate to the family Interchange program with CISV in Linz, Austria.
They will be painfully missed by their adoring cousins Cuyler Fiesel, Zeke George, and Clara, Robert, Christopher and Jane Lindland as well as many second cousins, extended family members fondly known as “aunts” and “uncles” and countless friends.
Regina, a breast cancer survivor, will be remembered for her beauty, skill at interior architecture, style, ability to conquer fixer-upper homes as well as her love of travel, adventure and happy gatherings that brought together family and many, many kind friends. Becoming a friend of Regina‘s meant you had a friend for life. Known as Aunt Wer to many, she never missed acknowledging a birthday or milestone of her brother, sisters, nieces and nephews.
The center of this loving universe were her twins. Graham’s love of nature, skateboarding, pinpoint joke-telling and skill at computers will be sorely and forever missed. Natalie’s warmth, athletic ability in volleyball and love of reading of an unknown number of books will be held dear to us in memory.
In her own words, Regina found CISV “matched her strong belief in equality, justice, diversity and a global village.” In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NE Ohio Chapter of Children’s International Summer Villages via this link .
The George and Lindland families are planning services to take place at a future time.
