Robert Mears

ROBERT ALAN MEARS of Powell, OH, formerly of Shaker Hts., Ohio, age 71, died February 9th, 2010. Bob was born in Cleveland and graduated from Shaker Heights High in 1956. He went on to college at Bowling Green State Universtity , graduating with a degree in education in 1961. Bob was a member of Phi Delta Theta at BGSU. Bob enlisted in the US Army Reserves in 1962 and served for four years. Bob and Marilou were married in 1962 and settled down in Shaker Heights, Oh. Bob started working for the Halle Brothers Department Stores as an assistent buyer and became a buyer for the company before leaving to work as a rep for the Proctor Silex Company. Bob spent many years working for several scholastic supply companies, such as Dieges & Clust, Herff-Jones and Jostens. These companies supplied most of the area high schools with their rings, caps and gowns and diplomas. Bob retired in 2008 and moved to Powell, Ohio to live near his son, Robert, Jr. Bob was the beloved husband of Marilou nee Nale , the dear father of Robert A. Mears, Jr., Lisa of Powell, OH, and the dear grandfather of Colton. Bob is also survived by his brother, Richard Mears Susan of Shaker Hts., OH.
