Robert Weinfurtner

September 7, 1921 — October 25, 2016

ROBERT K. WEINFURTNER passed away peacefully Oct. 25, 2016 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Boykin); devoted father and father-in-law of Karl and Barb, Molly and Rick, Ed and Amy, Jim and Annette; loving Papa to Suzanne, Barbara, Becca, and Robbie; Jesse and Sean; Andrew (Kyleigh), Kelley, Alyssa, Brody and Jamie; Casey and River; and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brother Ned and sister Rosemary.

Born in Ashland, KY, Bob's family moved to Cleveland at the age of 7. He graduated from Shaker Hts. High and went on to Purdue University. Upon graduation he served in Italy during WWII. He returned home to work at Westinghouse and Graybar Electric before founding Gateway Megatech, an electrical and electronic component distribution company in 1966. He was an active member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and Shaker Heights Country Club.

With his sons leading the company, Bob retired to Naples, FL in 1985. He was an avid golfer, tennis and bridge player - volunteered at the hospital, traveled, and loved being with family. He was a member of Royal Poinciana Club and attended St. Williams Catholic Church.

Bob touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Friends may call FRIDAY NOV. 4, 6-8:30 at BROWN-FORWARD FUNERAL HOME,
17022 Chagrin Blvd, Shaker Heights. Funeral mass will be held SATURDAY NOV 5, at 10:30am at ST. DOMINICS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 19000 Van Aken Blvd, Shaker Heights. Reception immediately following at Shaker Heights Country Club.
