Rosemary Bowden

July 11, 1939 — June 29, 2014

Rosemary was born in Akron, OH in 1939. She grew up with her two sisters and two brothers, attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, and graduated from Kent State University. There she met Michael Bowden, to whom she was married for 52 years.

She worked as a speech and hearing therapist in Cleveland before becoming a homemaker and having three children, Bridget, Beth & Mike.

Rosemary was a talented artist and designer. She was a volunteer for the Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra, and enjoyed playing golf and swimming at The Mayfield Country Club.

She loved the company of her family, her children and her many friends, and was a fun- loving and charming presence wherever she went. She was an excellent cook, and no one could enter her house without being served a delicious dish, no matter what time of day.

While working at The Painted Cottage in Chagrin Falls, she designed the beautiful and creative store windows, and was quite popular in the village. Rosemary had many friends and admirers. She loved to laugh, lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed every minute of her prime.

Rosemary was the beloved wife of Michael Bowden of Shaker Hts., OH; dear mother of Bridget McWilliams of Shaker Hts., OH; Beth McCreary (Brian) of Moreland Hills, OH and Michael Flynn Bowden of Cleveland, OH. She was the grandmother of Jarvis and George McWilliams and Henry and Eleanor McCreary and dear sister of Mary Ann Flynn-Fouse (William), Michael Flynn (Toni), James Flynn (Lynne) and Jeanne Marie Sattler.

The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to an organization of choice.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 2nd at 10 AM in The Church of St. Dominic, 19000 Van Aken Blvd., (at Norwood Rd.), Shaker Hts., OH 44122.
