Roy "Dutch" Harley, beloved husband of the late Janenee Edwards. Dear father of David E. Harley Diana of Baltimore, MD., James E. Harley of Woodstock, VT., Donald G. Harley Holly Crabill of Willoughby Hills, OH. and the late Janet Harley son-in-law, the late Wesley Collins. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to The Memorial Fund of Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Boulevard, Cleveland Heights, OH. 44118, Where Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 11 AM. Roy was a civil engineer and former president of the A.M. Higley Company. He served on numerous boards including AAA, Goodwill, A.M. McGregor, Case Alumni Association and the East Cleveland Cemetery. He was actively involved in East Cleveland Parks and their Neighborhood Center, Hill House, Garden Valley Neighborhood Center, Parkworks previously Clean-Land Ohio and Rapid Recovery and Forest Hill Conservation Society. He and two other members of their Rotary chapter, the Rotary Club of Cleveland, handled the landscaping of the W. 25th street rapid station for over twenty years. He was a die-hard volunteer visiting the rapid site every two weeks during the growing season maintaining trees, flowers and grass on both sides of the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge. Another labor of love for Mr. Harley was his involvement in Forest Hill Park. He devoted his time and energy to improving the park. He actually was deputized a park ranger because he spent so much time there. Roy was hands on and not content to supervise. He never thought twice about rolling up his sleeves and getting his hands dirty. Mr. Harley was a huge supporter of East Cleveland. He loved to show off Forest Hill. He will be greatly missed.
