Sharon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, 73, passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Born to William Alphonso Hobson and Geraldine Vivian Hobson (nee Moss) on March 24th, 1951, in Charleston, West Virginia, Sharon dedicated her life to God at an early age and enjoyed going to bible study, singing in the choir and being an usher at her church home, Glenville Church of God. Additionally, Sharon loved to hang out with friends, dress up and make people laugh. She had a welcoming personality, a huge heart and was slow to anger. Sharon attended Charleston High School, class of 1969 and later pursued a certification as a dental assistant. In her later years, Sharon worked for Koinonia Homes, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, prior to retiring in 2020.

Sharon was known for being kind and having southern hospitality, which she generously shared with others. She had a remarkable ability to nurture others, bringing joy and inspiration to all who encountered her. She will be remembered for being a beautiful mother and grandmother. Sharon loved her children and spoiled them often.

In her personal life, Sharon was a devoted wife to Larry Goodrum for thirty years. Additionally, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always putting the needs of others before her own. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, creating lasting bonds and unforgettable experiences.

Sharon's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her family and friends, but her spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Larry Goodrum, as well as her two daughters, Dr. Latia E. Phillips-Bey (Kumar); Eboni D. Wheeler and her son, Brandon Price, who preceded her in death. Additionally, she is survived by five siblings: William A. Hobson (Pamela), Andre R. Hobson (Angel), Christopher T. McGlothan (Trudie), Terrence M. McGlothan, Monika Tatom (Mark) and sister, Sherlon B. Hall, who preceded her in death. Sharon is also survived by her beloved uncle, Ronald Moss, nine grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous other family members and friends who will cherish her memory dearly through their love and shared experiences.

A funeral will be held in celebration of Sharon's life on Friday, April 12th, 2024, at Brown-Forward Funeral Home, located at 17022 Chagrin Blvd, Shaker Heights, Ohio 44120. The viewing will take place at 10:30am, immediately, followed by the service at 11:00am. All who knew her are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that everyone donates a bouquet of white flowers with a vase prior to the start of services, in honor of Sharon's passion for gardening.

Though Sharon may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever remain a guiding light, illuminating our paths with love, warmth, and cherished memories.
