Stephen Fairweather

June 5, 1920 — October 8, 2011

STEPHEN H. FAIRWEATHER, age 91, passed away on October 8, 2011 with his family by his side. He leaves behind, Corky, his loving wife of 62 years, his sons Rick Fairweather of Seven Hills and Rob Fairweather of Arlington, Virginia and their wives Jeanne and Debby respectively; and his daughter Jan Radkowsky of Chagrin Falls and her husband Tom. He is also survived by his grandchildren Julia and Diana Fairweather, Ali and Patrick Radkowsky, and Rachel Meese, as well as his great grandchildren Madeline and Molly. Steve served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated Cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and was elected to Sigma Xi. He also received a Masters Degree in Engineering Physics from Case Western Reserve University in 1950 and a Masters in Business Administration from Seton Hall in 1967. Steve worked for almost 20 years in the aerospace industry for NASA, TRW, and RCA, where he worked on weather and communication satellites. While at RCA, he served as Chairman of the Princeton section of the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He also worked as an engineer in the printing industry for Harris Corporation and as a medical physicist for Picker International and Siemens Corporation, helping to develop electronic imaging technology. He was a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and the Cleveland Area Medical Physicists. Steve was the author of 10 technical papers and 14 patents. A Memorial Service will be held in THE WADE CHAPEL AT LAKE VIEW CEMETERY, 12316 EUCLID AVENUE, CLEVELAND HTS., OH, on Wednesday October 12th at 11 A.M.
