Stephen W. Wright, died suddenly on March 18th at the age of 45. Steve was the loving and dedicated husband to Jennifer Schwartz Wright and father of Allison. He was born on July 23, 1967 in San Diego, California and grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
After graduating from Shaker Heights High School (Class of 1985), Steve experienced America living for a few years in Philadelphia then drove across the country where he lived in San Francisco and Berkley for many years. In 2002, Steve moved back to Shaker Heights to be with the love of his life Jennifer. The couple was married in 2003 and had their beautiful daughter Allison in the fall of 2005.
A graduate of San Francisco State University with a major in English Literature and a certified IT expert, Steve pursued a career as a computer network consultant then took a position as Director of Information Technology for McGowan and Company, an insurance underwriting firm based in the Cleveland area. His coworkers were like a second family to him and he was highly regarded across the company.
Steve is well known for his passion for books and all kinds of music. He was an avid guitarist in his free time. While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Steve performed in a band with his friends. Steve was always looking for innovative ways to enhance the music he played. His favorite music included the works of the Grateful Dead, John Coltrane, Pink Floyd, Parliament, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, Sublime and many others.
Steve is the son of Mary Jo Wright and the late Wilbur E. Wright and the brother of Diane Wright, Jeanine Lenihan and Brian Wright.
The primary service celebrating Steve's life will be held at 11:30am, on Saturday, March 23rd at the Nature Center in Shaker Heights and will be directly followed by a reception. This service will be spiritual, but not religious. Those seeking a more religious way to celebrate Steve are encouraged to attend a 10:00am prayer service, just prior, at St. Christopher's By-The-River in Gates Mills.
