Suzanne Newton Kaliser, 78, of Carlsbad, CA, passed away on February 11, 2014.
Loving daughter of the late Robert and Helene Newton, born April 18, 1935, in University Heights, Ohio.
Suzanne graduated from Hathaway Brown School in 1953 and received a BA in Art History from Principia College in 1957
She married Jerome A. Kaliser of Philadelphia in 1963, and they lived together in the Cleveland area, before relocating to Southern California in 1999. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 26th 2013.
While residing in Cleveland, Suzanne was an active member of the Lecture Recital Club holding many offices including that of President. She was also a member of the Women's Committee for the Cleveland Institute of Music. Following her move to Southern California, Suzanne became an avid fundraiser for the Peninsula Committee for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
She loved to travel and had visited most every area of the world with her husband.
Suzanne was a lifelong member of the Christian Science church having held numerous board level positions and Second Reader in her First Church of Christ Scientist, Chagrin Falls. Most recently she was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Jerome A. Kaliser of Carlsbad, CA. She is also survived by two children: Laurie (Robert) Pousman, of Healdsburg, CA; and David (Wendy) Kaliser of Mooresville, NC, and three grandchildren: Makky Kaliser, Jack Kaliser and Wyatt Kaliser.
A Funeral Service will be held 10 am, Saturday, February 22nd at Brown-Forward, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts.
