Tammy Katherine Richardson Perry was born on July 20th, 1959 to William A. Richardson and Katherine W. Richardson (nee. Clark), who preceded her in death. As a child, Tammy enjoyed traveling with her family across the country and spending time with her cousins. Tammy graduated from Shaker Heights High School on June 1977. Soon after on October 1st, 1977, Tammy married Johnny Lewis Perry. From this union of 12 years, 2 children were born; Johnny Leon and Tamika Lynell. Later in life, Tammy devoted herself to her longtime friend David Nelson Peck Sr. From this union; one child, David Nelson Peck Jr., was born.
Tammy gave her life to Christ at an early age and prayed every day for her family and friends. Tammy was a passionate and devoted hard worker; often working two jobs to support her family. And, made tremendous efforts to attend her children's band and orchestra concerts and extra-curricular activities. Tammy worked as a librarian, manager and in the daycare industry for years, until her health started to decline.
Tammy loved hard and learned to forgive quickly, especially when faced with challenges and obstacles. Tammy was very strong willed and instilled this trait, along with many others, to her children.
Tammy enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with family. She was an avid fan of the food network and enjoyed planning out meals well in advance. Often, cooking too much "just in case" someone stopped by; even, as her appetite decreased due to illness. Tammy found comfort in reading. Books were her "security blanket"; she carried them in her purse at all times, to doctor appointments, run errands, and always had a book by her bedside.
The lord took her home on January 14th, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Johnny and David; one daughter, Tamika; one grandson, Justin; one brother William C. Richardson (Cheryl); numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Tammy touched many and will be greatly missed. We will love you always.
