With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dr. Tssy-min Lin, a compassionate family physician and devoted Christian who dedicated his life to caring for immigrant communities in Uptown Chicago. Dr. Lin, 82, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024. His unwavering faith and tireless commitment to others left an indelible impact on everyone he served.

Dr. Lin was born on September 24, 1942, in Taiwan. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1970s, driven by a desire to provide compassionate medical care to underserved populations. After completing his medical training, he established his practice in Uptown Chicago, where he became a trusted physician for Vietnamese, Ghanaian, Cambodian, and other immigrant families. Fluent in multiple languages, he bridged cultural and linguistic gaps, creating a safe and welcoming space for his diverse patients.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lin was known not only for his medical expertise but for his boundless empathy. He saw each patient as more than just a case, understanding the unique struggles of immigrants adapting to life in a new country. Dr. Lin often went above and beyond his call of duty, ensuring that those who came to him felt seen, respected, and supported in all aspects of their lives. His clinic was a safe haven for families, where they knew they would be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. His faith was a guiding force in his practice, and he served as a gentle, comforting presence, embodying Christian principles of love, humility, and kindness.

Beyond his work, Dr. Lin was a devoted husband to his late wife, Feng-li Deborah Lin, a cherished father to his two children, Karen and Phoebe, and a proud grandfather. He was an active member of his church community, where he was a church elder.

Dr. Lin’s passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, patients, and church community. His determination, faith, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A memorial service honoring Dr. Lin’s life will be held at Brown-Forward Funeral Home at 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Heights, OH 44120 on Saturday November 16, 2024 at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to local organizations supporting community healthcare, reflecting Dr. Lin’s lifelong mission of service and faith.

Dr. Tssy-min Lin’s kindness, faith, and dedication to the Uptown community will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit of compassion and love lives on in the lives of those he touched.
