FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT FEDERATED CHURCH IN CHAGRIN FALLS, OHIO ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7 AT 3 PM. Wayne grew up in the North Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA and attended Rochester University on a football scholarship. The first member of his family to attend college, he played center on the varsity squad and worked at the rail yard over the summer for extra money. During college, he was most proud of maneuvering his Triumph motorcycle down the basement steps of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity house. After graduating from college in 1968, he moved to Cleveland and enrolled in Case Western Reserve University Law School. He was drafted into the Army in February 1969 and served as a military policeman at an army base in Germany. He returned to Case Western in 1971 and graduated with distinction in spring 1973. Upon passing the bar he joined the firm of Hesser, McGraw and Armstrong. WayneÕs good fortune continued to improve in 1974: after an uncommunicative lunch date, WayneÕs dance moves on the second date won him the heart of Barbara McConnell. They were married in 1975 and moved to Shaker Heights. Soon thereafter, they gave birth to their sons, Wesley and Drew. Later, Wayne became an in-house lawyer for ATO, later Figgy & Co International. His career path then led him to become general council and VP at StoufferÕs and moved to Moreland Hills with his young family. After its acquisition by Nestle, he became Supervising Council for the real estate, hotel, and corporate finance division, and finished his career in 2005. Wayne was an avid world traveler, an award-winning painter, a volunteer at the Chagrin Falls Park Community Center, and a city councilman. He loved reading history, listening to Motown, ÒdebatingÓ with his friends, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
