Wentworth "Jack" Marshall

Jack was born on August 22, 1931 to the late Dorothy (nee Koerner) and Wentworth Sr. and passed away October 18th, 2024. He was a devoted husband to the late Janet Nelson for almost 63 years, loving father of Nancy, Jeanne, and Julie Andrews(Cliff). Cherished grandfather to Zulmi Nakama (Hiroshi), Jade Lansing, Matt Lansing (Silvia Ma), Shan Kalmeta (Garrick), Jen Andrews, and Bowe Andrews (Audrey). Brother of the late Dorothy Rhodes.

After graduating high school from University School in 1949 where he was referred to as “Witty Wenty”, Jack earned a Bachelor's degree from Williams College in 1953 and then a Law degree in 1956 from Western Reserve Law School. He retired from his 68 year career as a trusted advisor in business, real estate, probate and estate planning this past June. Jack Marshall's name is synonymous with soccer. He came to Fenn College in 1954 to start a soccer program that just celebrated its 70th year in 2024. He stayed for 13 years, serving as Fenn's only soccer coach and becoming the first soccer coach when it became Cleveland State University in 1964. He was inducted into the Cleveland State Hall of Fame in 1994. His love for the game inspired him to found Orange Crush Travel Soccer in 1979. Jack was a founding board member of Maximum Independent Living and remained an active member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church throughout the last 15 years. He enjoyed summers sailing the coast of Maine from His summer house in Christmas Cove and played “gentleman farmer” at Circle M. Farm in Burton, OH. He was gregarious, generous and competitive and will be missed by many.

The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 17989 Chillicothe Road, Auburn Twp., OH 44023.

There will be a Private Family Burial at Northfield Macedonia Cemetery.
