William Howard Barker Bill, 54, of Federal Way, WA passed away suddenly on August 21st, 2009, 5 days shy of his 55th birthday. Bill was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, but Seattle was his home. He was a graduate of University School and Ripon College and began the Creative Colors painting company in Cleveland, where he became interested in home renovation. In the 1980's, with carpentry skills in hand, Bill headed west and never looked back. In 2001, he was involved in the building of the Poverty Bay Coffee Company store, where he and his friends met daily. More recently he was a west coast field supervisor for Environmental Growth Chambers EGC of Chagrin Falls, OH. Seattle provided him the opportunity to be in a big city near mountains and water. Bill loved exploring the outdoors, from snow camping to hiking Mount Rainier to riding his bike from Seattle, Washington to Sandusky, Ohio for a family reunion. Bill combined his interest in music and woodworking to hand-make mountain dulcimers. For many years Bill had a faithful four-legged companion named Rudy. This husky mix showed up at his door one day and decided to stay. They became fast friends. Bill is the son of Sandra Barker Davis and Raymond Martin Barker, Jr. deceased, brother of Cynthia S. Barker, Cleveland, Heights, OH and Barbara B. Schulze Robert of Sunderland, MA, uncle to a number of nieces and nephews and friend to many. Services are pending. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to an organization of your choice. BROWN-FORWARD SERVICE 216 752-1200
